3 University of Houston-Clear Lake Management Information Systems University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) is an upper-level university offering mainly bachelor and master’s programs in more than 40 disciplines. We are located at the heart of Clear Lake’s high-tech community adjacent to NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, USA. We have a student population of diverse cultural background, including a substantial number of foreign students form India, China, and Vietnam. The University

It is among the 149 business schools worldwide to have accreditations for both undergraduate and graduate accounting and business administration programs through AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) The School of Business

6 University of Houston-Clear Lake Management Information Systems The program in the Management Information Systems (MIS) is focused on hands-on approach to train students for the fast-changing information technology job market such as: Business Application Developer, Database Administrator, Network Administrator, System Security Administrator, Systems Analyst, Web Designer, e-Commerce Developer, and IT Project Manager. The MIS Program

Many of our faculty members maintain professional certifications from companies like Microsoft and Oracle. We have recently moved to a new Student Services Building and we maintain three separate computer labs for programming, web & database development, and networking. The MIS Program …..

The MIS Student Population

9 University of Houston-Clear Lake Management Information Systems The MIS Laboratories Database Laboratory Offers hands-on practice to develop web sites, e- commerce sites, databases, and data warehouses. Network Laboratory Provides opportunities for students to put-together cables, routers, and switches to develop a network and administer a network. Application Programming Laboratory Offers hands-on programming using various programming languages to develop business information systems.

10 University of Houston-Clear Lake Management Information Systems The Undergraduate Program UHCL offers only junior and senior-year (upper-level) courses towards completing a four-year bachelor degree in any program. All undergraduate students coming to UHCL are required to complete a set of lower-level requirements (60 hours) at the junior-college level and a set of upper- level courses (60 hours) at UHCL.
