Evidence for life after death Objective: To investigate the evidence we have for life after death. To evaluate the impact of life after death Outcome: 1.To know what we might consider to be evidence for life after death 2.To be able to explain the impact of believing in a resurrection.

Types of evidence? In what ways can we find evidence, think of science – In groups jot down at least three types of evidence.

Types of evidence.

1. Jesus himself testified to his coming resurrection from the dead. 2. The tomb was empty on Easter 3. The disciples were almost immediately transformed 4. Paul claimed that, not only had he seen the risen Christ, but that 500 others had seen him also, and many were still alive when he made this public claim. 5. The sheer existence of a thriving, empire- conquering early Christian church supports the truth of the resurrection claim.

Evaluate the evidence Explain in your own words if you think there is any evidence for the resurrection, explain your reasons for your view, and include the types of evidence we have used this lesson and how valid they are.

Outcome 2 What is the impact of believing in life after death, and being resurrected to live in Heaven.

Heaven Heaven could possibly be defined as the place where God, angels, and the righteous dead reside. According to believers, Heaven will be a place of perfect love, perfect justice, and perfect holiness. There will be no crime, no sickness, and no death. In Heaven, they believe, they will reap the reward that they were denied on Earth. Christian doctrine teaches that when a believer dies he goes to his heavenly home. There he will find other believers who have gone before. An old hymn speaks of the day 'When We All Get To Heaven' and says: 'What a day of rejoicing that will be'. Godangels'When We All Get To Heaven'

Task Write an extended answer to the following question: Why is a belief in life after death important to Christians? How will a belief in life after death affect how they live?
