Motivation “Organizing CDs or records is a *lot* more fun than organizing computer files; that's just a proven fact!” –Chuck Eddy, Senior Music Editor, The Village Voice My humble attempt to help poor music obsessives out Create an editable and browsable map of the genres & styles of an mp3 collection Supports –Browsing through genres and associated artists –Creation and playing of playlists –Labeling of mp3s’ genre

Design Details Mp3s classified according to multiple genres Graph built up from tags of mp3s Force directed layout based on number of mp3s with same genres From genres, can browse to associated artists and create playlists

Current Situation Saving all modified mp3 info to xml file –Easier to deal with, plus less chance of killing mp3s! Currently –Can read and write mp3 tags –Can read and write to xml file –Using Prefuse can display graphs using force directed layout Just need to get them working together!
