3 Features of Interest: Quantizing a Midi Track Using the Tempo Track Utilizing the Arranger Track

Quantizing Midi Allows one to regularize rough midi data by repositioning notes at periodic metrical points, i.e. it fixes rhythmic imprecision in improvised music. Advanced features allow one to selectively quantize so that the music does not become rhythmically mechanical, i.e. allows for rhythmic flexibility. Other advanced features can add swing to the midi data by purposely altering straight rhythms. Cubase can also quantize the durations of notes depending on assigned ratio.

Using the Tempo Track Allows one to easily manipulate the tempo in a midi track. Cubase can either adjust the tempo gradually or change speeds immediately. Allows one to insert time signatures.

Utilizing the Arranger Track Allows one to assign names to particular sections of music. These names Can then be arranged and repeated in any order. The arranger track makes it easy to Create songs in verse/chorus format Arrangements can be flattened so that They appear in a linearized fashion on the project window.
