Predicting Weather in Nova Scotia By student

Truro Weather for November 28 Maximum temperature 6 C Minimum temperature-1 C Wind speedSE Direction 15 km/h Barometric Pressure kPa Humidity86% Feel like temperature N/A Probability of precipitation 80% Precipitation amounts 1 cm snow and 1 mm rain In three days…light snow, 1°C, winds NW 25 km/h

Systems Map The Jet Stream is not present on this map. A high pressure system is moving off shore and a low is approaching. Cold Front Warm Front South winds are influencing NS at present. The active weather (snow and rain) map onto the warm front of the low pressure system.

Satellite Map A low pressure system is affecting Nova Scotia. This system extends toward Quebec. Weather systems travel from west to east in North America.

Radar Map Snow is falling in the South Shore and in Antigonish. Snow is falling at a rate of 0.1mm/h Snow is moving from the south west to the north east.

Computer Model The system over Ontario will bring rain to NS in 48 h This model conflicts with the prediction of light snow A ski hill operator may hold of on any snow making and cancel activities for the day. A person heading south on a plane should not expect any delays. A Lobster fisherman in Yarmouth should plan on rain and rough seas and a blueberry farmer if in season may hold off on irragation of their crops.
