The ATLAS/TILECAL Detector Control System Helena Santos (LIP − Lisbon) on behalf of the Tile Calorimeter Group EBC LBC LBA EBC TILECAL is the hadronic calorimeter of ATLAS. The detector is located 100 m underground and can not be accessed during LHC running due to ionizing radiation. Thus, it must allow full remote diagnosis and operation. This is assured by the DCS – the system responsible for coherent and safe operation of the detector. pictorial view of the ATLAS calorimeters Tile barrel Tile extended barrel
