Key Objectives 1.To promote the EU higher education system in order to enhance the attractiveness and visibility of European higher education. 2.To improve education, teaching and research activities in ICT, Engineering, Technology, Business and Management, Education and Teachers training. 3.To exchange ideas, views and knowledge among the partners from both EU and Asia to enhance communication, collaboration, cultural awareness, best practices and understanding of current and future needs of the Higher Educational Institutes. 4.To raise awareness of opportunities in the sector and develop links that can ultimately lead to mutually beneficial economic co-operation. 5.To establish a virtual learning center (VLC) with digital library facilities to make the eLINK framework sustainable.

Programme Outline Day 1: 9:00 – 13:00 – Registration and Welcome session 15: :30 – Seminar on Digital Bangladesh Day 2: 9:00- 12:30: Meeting for Selection Process Discuss generic problem (15 minutes) & record China will present & distribute their candidates to EU partners Bhutan will present & distribute their candidates to EU partners 14:00 – 17:00: Meeting for Selection Process Pakistan will present & distribute their candidates to EU partners Thailand will present & distribute their candidates to EU partners Nepal will present & distribute their candidates to EU partners Day 3: 9:00- 12:30: Meeting for Selection Process Bangladesh will present & distribute their candidates to EU partners Any other business 14:00- 17:00 Exploring Dhaka/Bangladesh/Free Time

Project Management Information/Tips According to the distribution money will be distributed to all EU partners. It will be EU HEIs responsibility to send the detail procedure to the candidates. If any one decline from actual list, EU HEIs will select the candidate from extra. All correspondence will be electronically except the offer letter for VISA Copy of all correspondence to be CCed to Asian partner All correspondence to the candidate should contain clear deadlines as required General information (EU HEIs) should be in the eLINK site by end of April These include, accommodation, local education, culture, health, food & weather EU HEIs should send guidelines for study (particularly, for PG research) by June09 You can start mobility anytime after this meeting.

Project Management Information/Tips Deadline for all mobility is 1 February 2009 All team leaders must submit paper to SKIMA 09 (next physical meeting venue). We are expecting all Asian Team leaders to be there in EU institutions as part of their mobility

Project Management Support & Costs Co-ordinators Conference Costs = £545 Web sites: eLINK and IRRC – Costs about £1000 for 45 months (hosting, building, running etc.) Support worker in order to co-ordinate to all partners, candidates to provide information, inserting document to website, maintaining liaison with different level at UoB for next three years: £5K X 2= £10.
