HLBSA Mission: Our mission is to create distinctive value for the UMBS Hispanic and Latin students and bring Latin culture to Ross School of Business 1.Awareness of Latin Culture and Heritage 2.Increase network among Latin and Hispanic students and those interested in Latin culture 3.Enhancing school’s brand in Hispanic communities in the US and Latin America. 4.Provide support to members in career search 5.Support Consortium activities Mission and Objectives

Marketing Coordinate the Ross School of Business presentations for prospective students in Latin America (Summer) –Select first year’s country chairs –Coordinate Date for presentations in LA with Admissions –Send Merchandising materials for presentations –Create a database with prospective student information of attendants Follow-up with prospective students in order to increase the final number of the yield of admissions (Winter) –Coordinate HLSBA members from each country to call accepted students from their home country Strength the relationship between HLBSA club and the Michigan-Alumni Clubs in Latin America (Spring) –Support current Alumni Clubs and the creation of other Alumni Clubs in Latin America Coordinate our effort and work together with the Professional Development VP (Throughout the year) –Coordinate with OCD an effort to increase the number of companies that hire internationals

Marketing Symposium – November 7-8 HLBSA will be co-sponsoring Thursday night cocktail hour. Organization of “Hispanic Marketing” Panel on November 7 th at 8:00 PM HLBSA members can attend the symposium for free Marketing MBA1 Leadership Group for Marketing

Career Development – Next Steps For MBAs attending the NSHMBA Career Fair: 1. Drop your resume on Impact by 09/13 in order to be considered for the NSHMBA Resume Book (Even if not attending NSHMBA!) (Student Career Services > OCD > Events) 2. Upload your resume to the career section of the NSHMBA website ( 3.Apply for positions through the NHSMBA Career website (There are currently 7,193 jobs currently posted on the NSHMBA Career Center!) 4.Attend the Career Fair Networking Workshop organized by OCD on September 19th

For MBAs in general: 1.Keep working on your resume! Deadline to submit in on Impact is coming soon 2.Sign up for Career Counseling at OCD (general counseling, resume review, mock interviews) 3.Attend the MBA1 Fall 2005 Workshops 4.Learn Career Search Skills through OCD handouts & past presentations (Career search overview, cover letters, resume writing, networking, etiquette, usage for recruiting, etc) 5.Contact MBA2s! They are the best resource of information and recruiting tips you would be able to find. 6.Start contacting Michigan Alumni of the companies you are interested in Career Development – Next Steps
