Germans interviewed people of different ages about: -how they grew up -who stayed at home (wife or husband) -who managed the finances -changes in households -are changes of usual role models being accepted?

 In general it’s usual for women to stay at home; obvious differences and developments:  70 years ago:  -children were hit at home and at school  -father was the head of the family  -girls didn’t get a good education

 40 years ago, things seemed to change:  - women got more rights => didn’t have to ask their husbands for permission any more  - it was forbidden to hit children at school  today women and men have almost equal rights, e.g. the same salary.

 It’s possible for men to stay at home to bring up the children, if the mother earns more money. Even people of the elder generation think it is okay and a development towards the right direction.
