Skills-competitions in Finland FinnSkills 9 – Playful competition for the ninth graders. Three member teams of boys and girls compete in tasks requiring hand skills Enhances the co-operation between the local comprehensive schools, educational institutes providing the vocational training and companies. Helps students to find the right educational training and increases the number of those applying to vocational training, especially in less popular vocations.

FinnSkills – Competition in vocational skills for young top talents Competitors must not be older than 20 in the year of the competition Arranged by the educational institutes providing vocational training, in co-operation with the companies Skills-competitions in Finland

FinnSkills 2007: 1050 students competed in 72 semifinals around the Finland, FinnSkills Finals 2007 in Joensuu – 307 students competed in 37 different skills visitors during three days FinnSkills 2008 in Espoo and 2009 in Vaasa Skills-competitions in Finland

WorldSkills – International competition in vocational skills The biggest international competition in vocational skills – Since the year 1950 Arranged every other year Competitors must not be older than 22 in the year of the competition Competitors from 48 member countries Approximately 45 competition skills, over 700 competitors, and in visitors during the four days of competition
