Annual Report – CBM EU Liaison Office (EULO) 2014

EULO Team Lars Bosselmann – Advocacy Manager of EULO and Acting Director of International Advocacy and Alliances Luisa Fenu – EU Policy Officer Alba Gonzalez – EU Policy Officer

2014 was a busy year We worked on three key areas: 1.The post 2015 process 2.The European Union and the CRPD 3.The European Union Elections

The post 2015 process CBM and theInternational Disability and Development Consortium (IDDC) organised the event of the Italian Disability Development Action Plan with the Italian ministry for Foreign Affairs and Rete Italiana per la Disabilita' e lo Sviluppo (RIDS)International Disability and Development Consortium We also organised several meetings with members of the European Parliament on disability inclusion in the post 2015 framework

The EU and the CRPD The EU will be examined by the UN Committee on Persons with Disabilities on it’s implementation of the CRPD CBM, in close collaboration with IDDC, has worked with the European Disability Forum (EDF) on the parallel report, specifically on the implementation of the articles 11 and 32 of the CRPDEuropean Disability Forum

Some of our tweets

The EU elections CBM participated in the electoral process of the European Parliament in In particular CBM contributed to the organization of the event which launched the "Putting People First" statement. The goal of the statement was to raise awareness of EP candidates on the rights of persons with disabilities and encourage them to sign the IDDC pledge "Putting People First" statement

Our plans for 2015 CBM and its partners will collaborate with the EU institutions and advocate for the EU to continue their commitment on the rights of persons with disabilities and promote their inclusion in the future sustainable development goalssustainable development goals

Our plans for 2015 As the CRPD assesses the EU's implementation of the CRPD, CBM, in collaboration with IDDC and EDF, will advocate for more inclusive development cooperation and humanitarian aid in line with the CRPD's articles 11 and 32 CBM will work on establishing new relationships with commissioners and MEPs, particularly those concerned with international cooperation and humanitarian aid.
