Division Vocabulary Array – A way of displaying objects in rows or columns. Dividend – The number being divided. In 63÷7=9, 63 is dividend. Division- an operation that tells you how many equal groups there are or how many in each group.

Divisor – the number of groups you divide the dividend into. In 63÷7=9, 7 is the divisor. Fact Family- a family of three numbers that can form math facts. 3x6=18 6x3=18 18÷6=3 18÷3=6 Product – the answer to multiplication problem. 4x3=12, 12 is the product.

Quotient – The answer to a division problem. In 63÷7=9, 9 is the quotient. Remainder – the number left over after dividing. Repeated Subtraction – a strategy for dividing that requires you to repeatedly take away the divisor.

Which Strategies are helpful when dividing multi-digit numbers? Does - Divide McDonalds-Multiply Serve-Subtract Burgers-Bring Down Raw-Remainder

When I divide one number by another number, do I always get a quotient smaller than my original number(dividend)? _________ 1)28÷3= Check: 2) 8)672 Check: x 3 x 8 Yes, your quotient (answer) should be smaller than you dividend.
