What is Study Work Create? Study Work Create is British Council’s campaign to inspire young people to experience the world through travel, work and education. With programmes in 100 countries and 80 years’ experience, we offer a gateway to international opportunities and a constant source of inspiration and expertise about real life overseas experiences. We have found that students who undertake an overseas study/work experience are more likely to gain an array of transferable skills that include: Ability to work with/relate to people from different cultures Openness or willingness to listen to others’ ideas Leadership Improved language skills Independence Confidence Time management Problem solving Creative mind set

Types of Opportunities we offer

Erasmus+ Spend between three and 12 months studying abroad as part of your university course in a choice of 32 countries with Erasmus+. Generation UK-China Young people and professionals can apply for scholarships to study in China from 2 weeks – 12 months. Generation UK-India Find out more about studying, working or living in India during a 2 week cultural immersion placement.

New study/teach opportunities coming soon… Through our overseas networks we are working with a of national governments to provide study scholarships in a variety of short term and long term options. Opportunities include: Turkey – Fully paid scholarships for 1 to 2 year degree programmes Mexico – Summer, semester and full degree scholarships Kuwait - Fully paid scholarships. The student will be studying Arabic language for three semester (one full academic year). The university covers; flight, visa fees, accommodation and an allowance of £200 a month

Erasmus+ traineeships Apply for funding to work in one of 32 European countries for two to 12 months as part of your course. IAESTE Students studying a science, engineering, technology or applied arts course can spend between six and 52 weeks gaining real work, salaried experience with top employers in over 80 countries. English Language Assistants Help teach English for a year in schools and colleges in a choice of 14 countries across the world. Opportunities to work at the British Council We offer various graduate opportunities, including entry level UK-based roles, as well as a structured internship scheme.

Generation UK-China Apply for funding to undertake a 2 month internships in China across a range of industries across six cities. Generation UK-India Gain experience in India as a teaching assistant in an Indian private school or on a work placement with an Indian organisation. Thailand English Teaching programme Teach English in a Thai school for between 9 weeks and a term. Philippines Teaching Assistants scheme Coming soon

Artists’ International Development Fund Freelance and self-employed artists can receive funding and support to help build connections with other artists, organisations and/or creative producers in another country. Active Citizens Join the community cohesion programme which provides you with the skills, and networks to make a positive contribution locally and globally. Digital India Interested in exploring the relationship between technology entrepreneurship, India, and your own career? Students can bring theirtechnology start-up ideas and work on them in India for two weeks on this immersion placement.
