Full text access restricted to Yale Campus users due to copyright permission (Iraqi Journals only)

Browse the list of available journals (“Y” : Access restricted to Yale Campus users due to copyright)

Search for text, here “ ابن سينا ” Results list will display the journals, issues, and page numbers.

Clicking on the + and – icons will open the results list to show details.

Links from the results will take the patron to the page having the searched text.

Navigate and Resize Search again Go to a specific page Review metadata Open and view MARC, And Print

Or, open the page turner and read through the journal.

Integrating resources In development: Permitting cross-collection searches with integrated digital resources, e.g. abstracts from Brill’s Encyclopedia of Islam and Halle’s MENALib

The development site: Showing the progress being made to integrate other digital resources Here we have added Brill’s Encyclopedia of Islam, Halle’s MENALib database, and Yale’s metadata directory of Internet resources

Searching now looks at all integrated resources. Here Yale’s metadata directory shows results for a test of “Arabic” This helps new students find resources related to the Middle East.

Clicking on the results list takes the patron to the Internet resource.

The presence of vowels in the text (Lane’s Arabic English Lexicon) b. Multi Language text ex. Arabic & Latin c. Different transliteration systems d. Metadata e. Names & Subjects Authorities

AMEEL’s New Four-Year Project Funded by NEH Syrian & Palestinian Gazettes Project, from 1919 to Palestinian Gazette: 40 reels and 5 supplemental vols.: 40,000 pages (rough estimate) 2. Syrian Gazette: 75 vols., 50,000 pages approximately Challenges: a. Paper conditions b. Creation of Metadata. c. OCR from Microfilm Ground total: around 110, 000 to 120,000 pages (Preliminarily count, Yale part only)
