Mentor Intervention All one-to-one contact Emotional support Task led and practical (E.g. employment, accommodation, money management) MOMIE model adopted throughout 9 month period and continuing Engage with veteran support agencies inc. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder assessment & support

Peer & Non-Peer Findings Peer Reason for some mentees getting involved & consenting to mentor support. Also reason why some declined veteran support. Immediate connection, trust & rapport. Positive change & progress dependant on quality match not necessarily peer mentor. Some peer mentors had limited experience in some areas of challenge. Evidence to suggest that some peer mentors were struggling themselves with veteran-related problems.

Peer & Non-Peer Findings Non-Peer Mentees readily accepted non- peer support. Well-matched partners connected well. Positive change & progress occurred across MOMIE model. Mentors had more experiences & civilian life skills to share.

Any Questions?
