Overview A total of 132 projects were approved by the Malta Enterprise Board of Directors in 2013 New FDI projects approved in 2013 were almost three times the total of the previous three years together ( ) Largest number of forecast employment opportunities being generated by new FDI projects since 2006 FDI investments in new and expansion projects approved by Malta Enterprise in excess of €100m The best year for local companies in terms of projects approved, forecast investment and new jobs created

Methodology The data presented does not include projects carried out and which did not avail themselves of Malta Enterprise’s assistance The operational definition of FDI adopted refers to all companies with 50% or more of equity held by foreign nationals All investment and employment figures are 3- year forecasts
