Section 28: Rehabilitative and Community Services - For children or youth up to the age of 21 who have a developmental disability that affects their every day functioning (Autism or MR). Services include skill building to address behavioral issues and activities of daily living.

An intensive service for children with a mental health diagnosis and their families. This service has a community and home based setting and is delivered with active parent involvement. The goal is to help the child and family understand mental health needs, change the way they react to each others behaviors for more positive results and improve how effectively they work together in identifying their challenges and strengths, as well as, their own natural and community supports.

 To access sections 28 or 65 children must be eligible for MaineCare.  If they do not qualify based on parent income they may qualify based on medical need through the Katie Beckett option.  Variety of agencies can provide services- parent/guardian can choose agency in their geographical region
