ROMANIA EUROPEAN COUNTRY

Romania is a country located in South-East Central Europe, North of the Balkan Peninsula, on the Lower Danube, within and outside the Carpathian arch, bordering on the Black Sea. Almost all of the Danube Delta is located within its territory. It shares a border with Hungary and Serbia to the west, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova to the northeast, and Bulgaria to the south.

FLAG COAT OF ARMS

Situated in the southern part of the country, k nown by its nickname of "Little Paris", Bucharest, Romania's largest city and capital, is today a bustling metropoli s.

The Arch of Triumph Parliament House The Romanian Athenaeum Revolution Square Old Historical Center of Bucharest National Village Museum

THE COTROCENI PALACE THE HERASTRAU PARK

 This is the most important touristic place of the country.  The Romanian “Riviera” has a 50 km length, consisting of 16 resorts

The mighty Danube River flows 1,788 miles from its springs in Germany’s Black Forest to the Black Sea. It is a wildlife enthusiast’s paradise.

BRAN CASTLE- DRACULA’S CASTLE

Romania’s collection of castles and fortresses best illustrates the rich mediaeval heritage of the country. The most popular include the 14th century Corvine ş ti Castle, the elegant 19th century Pele ş Castle with its 160 rooms filled with priceless European art and, of course, the Bran Castle, built in the mid-1300s and the legendary home of Bram Stoker’s Count Dracula.

SIGHIŞOARA

Central Romania encompasses what is popularly known as Transylvania – a place that immediately brings to mind the legend of Count Dracula. While the legend is certainly intriguing and a genuine tourist attraction, the region has much more to offer. Some of Europe’s best- preserved medieval towns, most notably Sighi ş oara, Bra ş ov and Sibiu, are located here.

Among the most picturesque treasures of Romania are the Painted Monasteries of Bucovina (in northeastern Romania). Their painted exterior walls are decorated with elaborate 15th and 16th century frescoes. The best-preserved are the monasteries in Humor, Moldovita, Patrauti, Probota, Suceava, Sucevita, and Voronet.

THE SPHYNX IN BUCEGI BABELE

Started by Romans and unique in Europe. Today Romania's 70 natural spas provide relief for many medical disorders and illnesses. Romania is home to more than one third of Europe's mineral and thermal springs.

The rich and tasty food in Romania is an influence of foreign settlers that have occupied the land in the past, nations such as Greeks, Hungarians, Germans and Turks. These past influences have allowed Romania to create its own unique gastronomy. Pork is the favourite main dish among most Romanians but you will also find great beef, lamb and chicken dishes. Savouring fish dishes are typical of the Danube Delta. Most meals are complemented by soup which is a national specialty in Romania. Also a variety of delicious cakes can be found on special events and holidays.
