What is JobsOhio? JobsOhio is a 501 (c)(4) private, not-for-profit corporation launched in July 2011 Will lead Ohio’s job creation, business retention and new business recruitment efforts. Focus will be on specific industry sectors in areas of statewide and regional strength. In these endeavors, JobsOhio will partner closely with the Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) to undertake certain program functions that were once the state’s sole domain.

JobsOhio Strategies & Focus 5/23/ JobsOhio is organized to focus in 2012 on nine industries and four complementary functions that drive Ohio’s economy. Using a private-sector approach, JobsOhio is led by experts in those chosen industries – leaders who speak the language of business. Importance of the industry in Ohio relative to the U.S.

JobsOhio Network 5/23/ Our success also is tied to the partnership with the JobsOhio Network – statewide economic development organizations with deep ties to their local business communities.

5/23/ Net job growth in the energy sector will depend on maximizing the full value chain related to Ohio’s Utica shale, including: Exploration Production Transportation Processing.

5/23/ Attract New Utica Shale-related Businesses Upstream – Exploration, production, supply, and service Midstream – Processing, pipelines, and distillation Downstream – Power generation and fertilizer manufacturers

5/23/ Target Areas of Opportunity Connect Ohio polymer strengths to other JobsOhio sectors, i.e. where Ohio polymer technology is strong.
