The Bolshevik Takeover In November of 1917, squads of guards consisting of armed factory workers and sailors from a Russian fleet. These Lenin forces overthrew the government and had no support. The men wanted to flood a meeting held in a winter palace full of members of the government. The government was informed of this by young cadet and the government decided to surrender with no blood shed. Moments later armed men took over the meeting and the government fell with no struggle. LENIN BUILDS A COMMUNIST STATE Government In 1922, the communists created a constitution that was supporting both democratic and socialist. This was for elected legislature, later called supreme soviet and set up a voting system for all people over the age of 18. These ideas for the new government was supported by the old Russian empire.
