Power consumption in the poultry industry Current lighting options The LED-based solution: glo AGRILAMP Early results Pioneers Seeing is believing New products Contact details for Distributor Contents

Power Consumption in the Poultry Industry In the UK alone 11,550 million eggs are produced annually 99% of these are produced under artificial lighting conditions This creates on average 246m tons of CO2 a year And accounts for 8.5 billion watts of power; the equivalent domestic energy use of a small city That does not include the Broiler Industry The industry must change as mandatory energy policies are applied

Current Lighting Options The traditional tungsten bulb Inefficient – 98% heat 2% light High heat output – high red light Short lifespan Huge power consumption Will dim Cheap Being phased out

Current Lighting Options - cont The Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) Lower power consumption, Contains dangerous gases Contains mercury No dimming ability Poor light quality Disposal issues

The only purpose-designed LED-based solution exclusively for poultry Successfully tested extensively with major producers Exceptional trial results Significant benefits: reduced power consumption and carbon emissions; improved animal welfare Available in 4, 8 and 100W sizes for different applications. glo AGRILAMP

This led to the creation of the first purpose designed LED, the glo AGRILAMP “A major development in poultry lighting”. AJ IEC Following thorough research the effects of blue and green light on chickens was established.

50% reduction in temperature 35,000 hrs 70% output – 8 W Dusk-till-dawn compatible Reduced aggression Reduced smothering Better feed conversion Shorter production periods Lower feather wear by up to 80% Calmer flocks Less Aggression Up to 90% energy reduction Even-lighting across cages No shadows or flickering Standard ES26/27 & BC fitting Non-toxic – no mercury 100% recyclable Lower Mortality Less waste food up to 15% recorded Stabilized temperatures

The very first shed for Noble Foods just 63 Agrilamps. Noble Foods now has 6,000 Agrilamps and is rolling out to a grand total of 18,000 Agrilamps. Noble Foods the UK’s largest Egg producer. 64 owned farms and 1000 contract farms Pioneers
