 Communication – From printed to digital  Preaching – From proclamation to engaging  Worship – From a weekly program or gathering to an encounter with God  Music – From songs/hymns that fit up to 3 generations to music that can have a life span measured in months.  Worship Aids – From sound to lighting, media and sound.

 Visitation – From checking a list to purposeful and intentional... from homes to office  Evangelism – From “sharing a plan” to “sharing your life”  Relationships – From face recognition/fellowship to true friendship.  Leadership – From controlling to empowering  Vision – From pastor’s vision to shared vision  Technology – Has impacted everything!

 A shorthand language of leadership thoughts, theories and techniques.  Taught by Keith Drury to youth leaders in the 1980’s Strategetics

Traditions

Strategetics Traditions - Yesterday’s innovations (Innovations: tomorrow’s traditions)

Strategetics Today’s problems

Strategetics Today’s problems -”Yesterday’s solutions” (Today’s solutions = Tomorrow’s problems)

 What we have been doing is not working.  For many of our congregations, if they closed after service this Sunday, it would make little, if any, difference in the community.  However, there is still resistance to change.

For the things that matter most:  Resource Us  Measure Us  Holds us accountable From others:  “Get off my back!”

Strategetics Dissatisfaction

Strategetics Dissatisfaction – One word definition of motivation.

 To minister in a traditional church setting will require a sense of call and patience!

Strategetics 20% per year

Strategetics 20% per year - Maximum amount of change humans can tolerate without “pushback.”

 Think strongly about forming interdependent teams for ministry. (Pastor/leader is the “first among equals”.)  Your first consideration should be church planting... the most effective way to reach those unchurched.  We desperately need some different kinds of churches.

 Life – most of it is ahead of you.  Passion  Commitment  Heart for God  Ideas  Understanding  The church must make room for you around the decision table!

 Direction  Accountability  Support  Structure

 The church – the body of Christ - is the hope of the world.

Strategetics 1x100 > 100x90

Strategetics 1x100 > 100x90 --God can get more done through one person who is 100% committed than 100 people who are only 90% committed. -- Leroy Eimes

Strategetics Critical Mass

Strategetics Critical Mass Starting small in order to do something big.

Strategetics Small Sprocket

Strategetics Small Sprocket – We are the small sprocket when trying to effect change.

Strategetics Life Wedge

Strategetics Life Wedge – The wedge with the sharpest angle drives the deepest. The focused life

Strategetics Risk

Strategetics Risk “All risk is not leadership but all leadership involves risk”
