What do we see when we look into the mirror?

HOLY Dissatisfaction means “We are not satisfied with our spiritual life/growth or status quo. Goal: We need to be dissatisfied with the way we are in order that we might become determined to become everything God intends for us to be.

Mirror of the Word

But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.  For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.” 1 Pet 1:14-16 NLT

Because of the weakness of your human nature, I am using the illustration of slavery to help you understand all this. Previously, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and lawlessness, which led ever deeper into sin. Now you must give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy. Rom 6:19 NLT

Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord (Heb 12:14 NIV). Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God (Mt 5:8 NIV).

Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to live in a way that PLEASES GOD, as we have taught you. You live this way already, and we encourage you to do so EVEN MORE…God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin. Then each of you will control his own body and live in holiness and honor-not in lustful passion like the pagans who do not know God and his ways. 1 Thess 4:1, 3-5 NLT

God has called us to live holy lives, not impure lives God has called us to live holy lives, not impure lives. Therefore, anyone who refuses to live by these rules is not disobeying human teaching but is rejecting God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you. 1 Thess 4:7-8 NLT

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s MERCY, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Rom 12:1-2 NIV
