FUNGIBACTERIAVIRUSES CELL MEMBRANE CELL WALL CELL NUCLEUS

Fungi are made of long thin threads When lots grow together – it looks fluffy Fungi are decomposers, the decompose living things and take up the nutrients Fungi do not make their own food like plants

Bacteria do not have a nucleus Bacteria are living things as they exhibit : movement, reproduction, sensitivity, growth, respiration, excretion, nutrition Bacteria reproduce by multiplying themselves

Viruses look the least like animal and plant cells They invade host cells to reproduce Viruses are not cells and don’t carry out most life processes. They do not feed, respire or excrete.

Why should you avoid touching microbes? List two things that make viruses different from plants, animals and other microbes. How do bacteria reproduce? Some bacteria are MRSA. A third of your class could be carrying them. They are harmless on your skin or in your nose. But they can kill hospital patients if they get into their wounds. Why is it so hard to keep MRSA out of hospitals? List some common symptoms caused by viruses. Why is it a problem when an infected person has no symptoms? Quiz
