Where is Pearl Harbor ● Pearl Harbor is a harbor on the island of Oahu in Hawaii, west of Honolulu. ● Much of the harbor and surrounding lands is a United States Navy deep-water naval base. ● It is also the headquarters of the United States Pacific Fleet.

Why did the attack happen? ● Before this attack on September 1940 the US had placed an embargo on Japan, prohibiting the sale of steel, iron, and aviation fuel because of the invasion of Japan in French Indochina. ● The Japanese sunk three cruisers, three destroyers, and one minelayer. cruisers destroyers ● 2,403 Americans were killed.

When did pearl harbor happen? ● This started around 7:49 AM December 7th 1941, Hawaii time. ● 360 Japanese warplanes seemingly fell towards Pearl Harbor rapidly. This attack wasn't expected and left the United States no choice but to join WW2.
