Parallel lines lines that are on the same plane and do not intersect. Two lines are parallel if and only if they have the same slope.

Perpendicular Lines lines that intersect to form a right angle. Two lines are perpendicular if and only if their slopes are negative reciprocals of each other. The product of two slopes is equal to -1.
