RIO Pocket PLC

Smart. Compact. Low Cost. Lots of I/O. Smart – RISC processor, memory, pulse counters, PID process loops, web interface, capability, PoE, Ethernet, Ladder Interface Software Compact – just 3.88” x 4.26” x 1.30” Low Cost – only $295 in single quantity Lots of I/O – 32 digital I/O & 16 analog I/O

Includes Analog I/O and Ethernet Unlike most PLCs, the RIO provides analog I/O and Ethernet connectivity at no extra cost

RIO-471x0 Provides Numerous I/O 16 isolated inputs, 5-24 VDC 8 isolated, sourcing outputs, VDC, 500mA 8 isolated, sinking outputs, 5-24 VDC, 25mA : 8 analog inputs, 0-5 VDC, 12-bit ADC : 8 analog outputs, 0-5 VDC, 12-bit DAC : 8 analog inputs, selectable as +/-10V, +/-5V, 0-5V, 0-10V 12-bit standard, 16-bit optional. Differential or Single-ended : 8 analog outputs, selectable as +/-10V, +/-5V, 0-5V, 0-10V 12-bit standard, 16-bit optional All I/O are self-contained in each RIO unit. Use multiple RIO units to add more I/O.

Use ICS boards for Prototyping Converts D-type to screw terminals ICS for analog I/O ICS for digital I/O

RIO can be Modbus Master or Slave RIO can be used as a stand-alone I/O controller, connected to other RIOs or PLCs, or connected with Galil’s Ethernet motion controllers. RIO as Modbus Slave: Another RIO or Galil controller can send and receive info from an RIO RIO as Modbus Master: RIO can send information to other I/O devices

RIO Programming RIO can accept: 1.Galil’s standard two-letter commands 2.Code from Galil’s Ladder Interface Software which converts Relay Ladder Logic into two- letter code.

Software Tool for Ladder Logic Galil provides a software tool that converts a standard Relay Ladder Logic (RLL) program into a Galil program Allows user to graphically enter a complex I/O routine into the software, and have that routine run deterministically on the RIO Supports functions such as contacts, coils, boxes (timers, counters, operators, etc) and analog I/O

What is Relay Ladder Logic? Relay Ladder Logic (RLL) is a standard programming format used primarily for programmable logic controllers (PLC) RLL is a graphical programming language to specify I/O logic

Ladder Interface Software Galil’s Ladder Interface Software converts a Relay Ladder Logic program into deterministic code for input into Galil’s RIO I/O Controller

Functions Supported Contacts Coils Control Relays Boxes (timers, counters, data manipulation) Mathematical and Logical Operators Galil Command box Analog I/O

Conclusion Galil’s RIO is a cost-effective, compact PLC for intelligently handling analog and digital I/O on the Ethernet More information:
