"Devastation as far as the eye can see". Tropical Cyclone Pam, a Category 5 storm with winds up to 297 km/h and torrential rain, battered Vanuatu causing “complete devastation” to the island chain in the South Pacific.

Entire villages in remote areas were destroyed. In Port Vila, the capital, up to 90 percent of the houses have been destroyed, trees and power lines are down, and people are wandering the streets looking for help.
