Fully Extended Logic Model

At the completion of the program/intervention, what will be different? How will the AUDIENCE and the ISSUE change because of what we DO and/or what we produce in Extension?

Short Term Outcomes/Results Changes in:  Knowledge  Attitudes  Skills  Aspirations Concrete and measurable Directly linked to the project Should be attainable between 1-3 years, evaluated frequently

Long Term Outcomes/Results Reported on 4-6 years from the onset of the project/program The intended ultimate impacts or objectives of the project  Societal  Economic  Environmental  Individual  Community capacity  Organizations  Systems

Examples of Outcomes SHORT As a result of the parenting program, parents read more to their children. Homeowners can identify common native and nonnative plants in the landscape. LONG Children develop age- appropriate literacy skills. There is an increase in biodiversity of suburban landscaping in Kent County

A way to approach logic models The mission of (my program or project) Is to produce/provide (activities/products) To/for (target audience) So that they (short term outcomes/learning) And will be able to (mid term outcomes/application) Resulting ultimately in (long term outcomes or change to the issue)

From outcome to indicator Short term objective: Youth who participate in the program increase their physical activity. Short term indicator: Youth who participate in the program will increase their physical activity by 50% as measured by activity journals that are kept throughout the program. Level of activity will be compared from the beginning of the program to the end of the 4 week program.
