Bibliography: Basic Formatting RulesBasic Formatting Rules  Label the page “Bibliography” (do not bold, italicize or underline the title)  Center the title  Sources should be listed in alphabetical order by author’s last name  If there is no author, the title of the article comes first.  Ask for help if you have more than one work by the same author.  Do NOT number, bullet, or letter the source list!  Double space everything on the page.  There should be no extra spaces between sources.  Italicize the title of the source if it is a book, journal/magazine, or database.  Hanging Indent – indent the second line of the citation (tab every line after the first)  Think of this as the opposite of paragraph indents.  Note that if you edit or change the format (like font size), the line may end in a different spot than before and you may have to reformat the hanging indent.
