We see the providence of God working throughout In this story Joseph had stored up grain to preserve life in a time of famine for many nations. (Genesis 45:5-8)

Joseph appointed to gather up grain. –Why? Joseph interpreted King’s dreams. –Why? Joseph in prison. –Why? –Joseph remained in prison. Why?

Joseph got out of prison. –Why? Joseph was in Egypt in Potiphar’s house. –Why? His brothers sold him to a caravan of traders going to Egypt. –Why? His brothers hated him. –Why? Jacob expressed favoritism. –Why?

Providence of God is seen on every page in the story of Joseph. –Joseph was sent by God into Egypt to preserve life. –To save a remnant of those descending from Abraham. –Without Joseph, there would be no scheme of redemption, no nation of Israel, and no Savior of the seed of Abraham.

God’s providence related to His power to use all the choices and details of our lives. God is not responsible for choices but used them! God still uses the choices of men to work out His own divine purposes.
