About $311/year After 5 p.m. no permit required in lot 7 at corner of Tate & Oakland 5 p.m. Friday – midnight Sunday, no permit required in C/E lots  Request Parking Permits:  Non-UNCG Parking – Pay Attention to City Regulations  Churches around campus – fee for permit, contact church  Streets around campus Tate, McIver, Oakland, etc. Park at your own risk.  Don’t park in apartment complex lots - towed

Plan B  What is your plan if your primary mode of transportation breaks down or is unavailable?  Start planning now: Do research on bus routes, take a trial run before classes Check out Zimride and carpool at least once Have faculty phone number/ entered in your phone  Get Motor Assistance Plan (i.e. AAA).

Ensuring Success for Commuters  Attend CAP, CAB, other campus events;  Interact with faculty;  Meet other students in your classes;  Give yourself a break between classes;  Be focused on Time Management;  Check your ISpartan or forward it to your personal; Check Bb = Blackboard;  Utilize campus resources: Library, Student Success Center, Writing Center - you paid for it!

Beware of Transfer Shock  Your GPA does NOT transfer.  This is not like your previous college or university – do not assume UNCG does things the same way.  Students who use the Student Success Center, Writing Center, and Speaking Center are more likely to do better in classes and have higher GPAs.  Adult students – don’t “parent” your traditional aged peers.  If you are a transfer student coming into a program in Junior year – ask about department/faculty protocols.  Transfers – hold on to your Syllabi.
