Pre – 2008 GC 76000(b) Allows additional penalties on parking offenses: $2.50 For local court construction (GC 76100) $2.50 For local criminal justice facilities construction (GC 76101)

Pre – 2008 GC 70372(b) Requires: $1.50 additional penalty on parking offenses for state court construction

Pre – 2008 GC Reduced the GC penalty by the amount collected for the local courthouse construction fund established pursuant to GC

January 1, 2008 SB 425 GC is amended: (b) In each county, the five-dollar ($5) penalty amount authorized by subdivision (a) of Section shall be reduced by the following: (1) The amount collected for deposit into the local courthouse construction fund established pursuant to Section

January 1, 2008 SB 425 The effect of the change to GC 70375: All counties must now collect and remit the state court construction penalty on parking offenses pursuant to GC 70372(b) regardless of amounts collected for deposit into a local courthouse construction fund established pursuant to Section

January 1, 2009 SB 1407 Amends GC 70372(b) and GC 70375: GC 70372(b) now imposes a $4.50 penalty on parking offenses. It also changes the state’s fund distribution. GC now limits the GC 70372(a) reduction to amounts collected for the Transitional State Court Construction Fund.

Effect of Court Facilities Transfer to the State GC 76000(d): The authority to impose the $2.50 penalty authorized by subdivision (b) shall be reduced to $1.00 as of the date of transfer of responsibility for facilities from the county to the [State].
