Feast of Nicolas Barre 2013

Gathering Prayer God our Father, we thank you for the gift of Nicolas Barre, whose vision and dream have brought us together. We celebrate his spirit that continues to live in each of us and allows us to bring forth a new creation. Nicolas’ whole life radiated a deep inner spiritual power. May we too, radiate this deep peace, light and love in our lives.

I give you my heart This is my desire, to honour you Lord with all my heart, I worship you All I have within me, I give you praise All that I adore, is in you Lord I give you my heart I give you my soul I live for you alone Every breath that I take Every moment I'm awake Lord have your way in me...

Holy Darkness Refrain: Holy darkness, blessed night, heaven's answer hidden from our sight. As we await you, O God of silence, we embrace your holy night. I have tried you in fires of affliction; I have taught your soul to grieve. In the barren soil of your loneliness there I will plant my seed. I have taught you the price of compassion; you have stood before the grave. Though my love can seem like a raging storm this is the love that saves. In your deepest hour of darkness I will give you wealth untold. When the silence stills your spirit, will my riches fill your soul.

Canticle 37 They belong to God and God belongs to them; The Spirit carries them where it will, Acts in them, possesses them, moves them Like faithful servants. No feather borne hither and thither upon the wind Moves with such grace and freedom As do they who allow themselves To be carried by God Without resisting.

Canticle 38 Whether God raises them up or sets them down, Carries them here or there In a thousand different states, Of power and weakness, They accept it all out of love. Knowing always where to find Their peace, their rock, their good. Once God alone is in command, His work in them Will always know fruition.

God will make a way God will make a way, Where there seems to be no way He works in ways we cannot see He will make a way for me He will be my guide Hold me closely to His side With love and strength for each new day He will make a way, He will make a way. By a roadway in the wilderness, He'll lead me And rivers in the desert will I see Heaven and earth will fade But His Word will still remain He will do something new today.

Prayer of Abandonment Chorus: Lord I want nothing more, I desire nothing more, only to be. Ready to desire what you desire, and as you desire it. 1. Lord you hold me in your presence, you watch over everything. All my concerns, all that happens to me; nothing escapes your adorable guidance of my life. This in enough for me. O Jesus, O Love, You are my God and my all, Set in infinity of Goodness and greatness. 3. May Jesus come to be in us. May He find his delight in us and so there will be nothing left for us to desire. Do Lord what you want of me. Do with me what you will, attempt at everything in the way that pleases you. And I will try to desire to act & follow you in everything and everywhere without reserve or limit. 5. Finally Lord, I want to belong totally to you. No more division nor separation neither in life nor in death in sorrow or in joy, on earth or in Heaven. My Beloved is all mine & I am His forever. O JESUS! O LOVE!
