IMPERIALISM FOSTERED RIVALRIES l SPAIN, PORTUGAL, AUSTRIA- HUNGARY, GERMAY, GREAT BRITAIN

EUROPE BELIEVED IN ITS SUPERIORITY l THANKS TO THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION, THE EUROPEANS HAD WEAPONS, AND WAYS TO GET TO OTHER COUNTRIES

IMPERIALISM REACHED LATIN AMERICA l CHILE, PANAMA, CUBA, HAITI, NICARAGUA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC.

IMPERIALISM AND THE WORLD l NO PART OF THE WORLD WAS TOO REMOTE FOR TRADE AND COLONIZATION.

IMPERIALISM AND THE WORLD l THE INDUSTRIAL NATIONS WERE WILLING TO COMPETE EVEN FOR THE SMALLEST ISLAND.
