A look at a firearm, Barrett M caliber sniper rifle By Dustin Mortsolf

AT A CLOSER LOOK The Barrett M107 can get up to ten rounds down field in less than ten seconds. The old sniper rifles took fifteen to twenty seconds to get just two rounds down field. The Barrett M107 has a ten round magazine, high power led scope, pistol grip, rifle stock, and optional bipod. The one in the background is shown without the optional bipod.

THE GUN’S STATIS Caliber: 12.7 mm (0.50 in) Total weight (unloaded): 12.9 kg (28.5 lb) Magazine capacity: 10 rounds Weight of magazine: 1.87 kg (4.12 lb) Length: 1,448 mm (57 in) Barrel length: 737 mm (29 in) Muzzle velocity: 853 m/ s (2,800 ft/s) Maximum Range: 6,812 m (7,450 yd) Maximum Effective Range: 1,829 m (2,000 yd)

ammunition The Barrett M107 uses a rim fire.50 caliber rifle bullet. A rim fire bullet has gun powder in the rim of the bullet which ignites and sends the bullet down the barrel.

Semi automatic This gun has to be a semi automatic for a few reasons. First if it was a bolt action or a single shot it would shatter your shoulder due to the large cartridge in the chamber and the thrust in the projectile.
