A BOUT THE A UTHOR Name: Louis Sacher DOB: 20 March 1954 Lives: Austin Texas Born in: East Meadows New York Genre of holes: Realistic fiction Old Job: Teachers Aide Inspiration: His favourite class Three questions I would like to ask him: How did you get the idea for writing holes? Why did you become a writer? What is the best thing about being an author?

A BOUT THE B OOK Holes to me is a very funny book. I just started reading it and I think is a great book. The book is about a boy called Stanley who goes to a camp called Camp Green Lake. It is not a normal camp it’s a camp where you dig holes everyday. 1 hole per day and then you get the rest of the day off. In the book Stanley has to make friends. He becomes friends with a very quiet boy named Zero. Stanley teaches Zero how to read and write, while Zero digs part of Stanley's holes.
