Aztec civilization Aztec people lived on a floating island type village they grew crops year round and they thrived because they were partly in water when they were growing Aztec people had annual human sacrifice rituals every month

City/location location: first settled at the valley of Mexico (present day Mexico City) Traveled to Lake Texcoco years after they settled in The valley of Mexico Made a floating city called Tenochtitlan

Rituals and ceremonies Aztecs would sacrifice humans as an offering to the gods These sacrifices were usually young children They would sacrifice people because of the belief that people were food to the gods and they needed to feed the sun god or he would take away the sun

Fall of aztec WHAT HAPPENED!!!!!! There conqueror was Hernan Cortes When he came Montezuma mistaken him for the sun god and let his guard down At the same time small pox hit and took out half of the population

fall Another reason they fell was because cortes and his CONQUETADORS bought horses and guns which the Aztecs had never seen before They were also unprepared for Cortes's ambush pox also corroded the city duing the attack
