North Mac CUSD # COMMUNITY ELIGIBILITY OPTION

 The National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs has selected 6 states to participate  Driven by desire to use federal funding to provide meals to students, not cover administrative costs  Looks at “direct certify” student status  Uses a multiplier to reimburse schools  District must apply and qualify  Qualifying district characteristics PROGRAM OVERVIEW

 Notification letter to all K-8 parents  Separate waiver process, determined by Board of Education, for other district programs and fees  Monthly direction certification process (electronic)  “Count” versus fingerprint or ID tracking  Elimination of lunch balances and charging PROCESS CHANGES

 Increased federal revenue  No more calls home for forgotten lunch money  Parent convenience  All students eat breakfast and are learning ready  Pride OPPORTUNITIES

 Cost Savings  Paperwork reduction  Staff time reduction  Streamlined registration process  Reduced collections efforts  Revenue Increases  Increased revenue for the district by encouraging more students to participate in school breakfast and lunch  Increased attendance rates equal more meal revenue and more general state aid PROJECTED ECONOMIC IMPACT
