Did you guess……? The answer is that ALL of the photos were of Brazil! All right? Some wrong ? These photographs show what a diverse country Brazil is. It has lots of contrasting landscapes and has some very rich and very poor people and places. During this topic we will learn about many aspects of Brazil and it’s people.

First things first then…. Here is Brazil, in the continent of South America

has a very a long coastline Is 8, 511,000 square kilometres Has a specially created capital city called Brasilia Population speak Portuguese Coffee is the most important crop Much of Brazil is covered by an enormous rainforest – the Amazon. The river Amazon (the largest river in the world) flows through Brazil

As you can see by the blue bar graph Brazil has a lot of rain all year round. The line graphs show us that it is very hot in Brazil all year round. What do you notice about which months are the hottest?

The Brazilian people live crowd around the coast where it is easy to build and there are opportunities to make money Hardly anybody lives in land due to the hostile environment of the Amazon rainforest.

There are some very famous Brazilians! Can you think of any more?

Do you recognise these 2 famous formula one drivers – past and present?

Brazil is not without its issues! Cutting down the rainforest at a rate of 20 football pitches every minute!

Why are the Brazilians cutting down the rainforest? To clear land for farming And to ranch cattle To mine for precious minerals To provide homes and hotels!

Adeus da esperan ç a de Brasil I você apreciou a mostra e aprendeu algo sobre este pa í s! Goodbye from Brazil I hope you have enjoyed the show and learnt something about this country!
