Happy New Life!!

Church Vision Real Life, Love, and Family

Real Life… …overcomes sin!

There is ONLY ONE Power over sin!!

Only when Jesus shines in our hearts…

Then we become NEW people with REAL LIFE! Then we become NEW people with REAL LIFE!

God wants us to have new life! But what’s wrong with the old?

S L A V E R Y !!

EXODUS 1:8-10 Then a new king, to whom Joseph meant nothing, came to power in Egypt. “Look,” he said to his people, “the Israelites have become far too numerous for us. Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.”

What made the Israelites slaves? First, who? Pharaoh Pharaoh was a fearful person. A person full of fear made them slaves. So, what makes people slaves? USING A LITTLE

FEAR!!! So what makes people slaves?

FEAR!!! What does fear do?

EXODUS 1:11-14 So they put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labor, and they built Pithom and Rameses as store cities for Pharaoh. But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites and worked them ruthlessly. They made their lives bitter with harsh labor in brick and mortar and with all kinds of work in the fields; in all their harsh labor the Egyptians worked them ruthlessly.

Fear makes people mean and cruel.

Fear makes people want more and bigger stuff they can see and touch.

FEAR!!! What else does fear do?

EXODUS 1:15, 16 The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah, “When you are helping the Hebrew women during childbirth on the delivery stool, if you see that the baby is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live.”

Fear kills! Even babies. What else does fear do?

WHY?! !

Why was the pharaoh so fearful? EXODUS 1:10b,c “…or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.”

Fear has no room for trust and love! Fear only knows how to be afraid.

Fear is afraid of losing. doesn’t know how to REALLY WIN!

And what for ?

EXODUS 1:11a “So they put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labor...”

EXODUS 1:11b “…and they built Pithom and Rameses as store cities for Pharaoh.”

So, what’s wrong with the OLD? Slavery to Fear No trust – some people aren’t worth much No love – some people are to be used No justice – some people don’t deserve a life The old life is about storing up stuff for the rich.

How will the Israelites get away from the old?

How would the Israelites get away from slavery to fear?
