Scarlet Fever

The Symptoms Of Scarlet Fever The most obvious sign of scarlet fever is a rash. It will look like sunburn with little bumps that will itch to begin with. It normally begins around the neck and then spreads to other parts of the body. In places like under your arms the rash forms in red streaks. The throat may become red and the tongue and the throat may become covered with red or white dots. In the earlier stages the tongue may have a whitish or yellowish coating. Temperature may be at or over 38.3° You may also have swollen glands.

Other Symptoms You may also get: Chills Vomiting Nausea Loss of appetite

Effects of Scarlet Fever Scarlet fever killed many small children and babies in the 1860’s. It was not until many years later that a treatment was found. Now if you attract scarlet fever you will be put on antibiotics and be cured and back to normal health. The rash itself last normally for about 6 to 9 days.
