Eight Major Levels Squad/Section Platoon Company/Troop/Battery Battalion Brigade/Group/Regiment Division Corps Army

Army National Guard Divisions 28th Infantry Division, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania 29th Infantry Division, Fort Belvoir, Virginia 34th Infantry Division, Saint Paul, Minnesota 35th Infantry Division, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas 36th Armored Division, Austin, Texas 38th Infantry Division, Indianapolis, Indiana 40th Infantry Division, Los Alamitos, California 42nd Infantry Division, Troy, New York

Corps 20,000 – 40,000 Soldiers. Constituted by two to five Divisions. Commanded by Lieutenant General assisted by a Command Sergeant Major. Provides the framework for multinational operations. The Corps provides command, control and logistical support of two to five Divisions.

Army 50,000 + Soldiers. Commanded by a General assisted by a Command Sergeant Major. Army has three levels, “Theater Army”, “Field Army”, and “Army Group”. Combines two or more Corps.

Army National Guard Mission Dual mission including federal and state roles. Federal Mission: Trained Units for War and National Emergencies. State Mission: Prepares for Domestic Emergencies. Commanded by State Executive (Usually Governor).
