Every 15 Minutes Attica High School April 27, 2005

The day started with the “Living Dead” Every 15 Minutes

The Grim Reaper selected a victim...

…who became the first of the Living Dead.

To some people, the Grim Reaper was a joke.

But then came the reading of the obituary.

The Grim Reaper roamed the halls looking for victims.

You can run, but you can’t hide.

The Reaper worked hard – he found a “Dead Dozen” But it wasn’t enough.

There was a wreck. Every 15 Minutes

The Grim Reaper looks over the crash site.

Every 15 Minutes One young lady was lucky. She was treated and released.

She was unconscious at first.

Later, they checked her condition.

Just to be safe, they stabilized her before freeing her from the car.

Lastly, they gave her oxygen before sending her home.

Every 15 Minutes One victim died in the hospital.

He was trapped in the car.

They got him out of the car.

They added more straps to prepare him for transport.

They took him away from the scene where others still were working.

The medical evacuation helicopter arrived.

The air paramedics prepared him for the flight.

They loaded him aboard the helicopter.

All his parents could do was watch – and maybe not even that.

He took off on his final flight… …at a cost of $13,000

At the hospital. No pulse.

And no respiration. Which means….

He’s dead – and left alone.

And all his parents can do is say “Good-bye”

One young lady died at the scene. Every 15 Minutes

She went through the window… …and a wiper went through her.

A medic checks on her condition.

She is covered by a sheet… …so she can be ignored.

And she is ignored… …as they work to free the living.

The shock…

…and the grief that follows.

They put her in a body bag…

…zip her in it…

...and wait for the funeral home to pick her up – as the Grim Reaper watches.

Meanwhile, the funeral director explains the options…

…and the family can only listen.

And then there was the driver. Every 15 Minutes

She screams when her friends in the other car don’t answer her.

At first, the police show only concern for her.

But when the answers don’t add up, the questions get tougher.

That’s followed by a field sobriety test.

And when she fails the field tests, she get a breath test.

As the driver was failing the tests, the emergency workers struggled to free the victims in the other car.

In the squad car, headed to jail, the driver has tears in her eyes as she realizes what has happened.

Awaiting her next step, she is behind bars at the jail.

Fingerprinted and then to a cell.

The detox cell is full, so she waits in the padded cell.

The wait is NOT fun.

And finally, there was to be a trial. Every 15 Minutes

The driver arrives at the Courthouse.

The courtroom was packed.

The Living Dead were to be the jury.

The driver decided to plead guilty, so the trial became a sentencing hearing.

The father of the girl who died at the scene addressed the court.

The father of the boy who died in the hospital addressed the court.

The driver reacts to the statements of the fathers of the boys who died.

The father of the driver addressed the court.

The driver addressed the court to plead her own case for leniency.

The sentence was 6 years in a correctional facility and 2 years in work release and a $25,000 judgment to be paid.
