MOD VIII - REGULATORY OVERVIEW FOR WORKERS IN FEDERALLY-ASSISTED HOUSING  List the major Federal agencies responsible for regulating lead-based paint and associated activities.  Recognize that the Lead Safe Housing Rule requires lead safe work practices and clearance in HUD-assisted housing.  Explain interim controls — their purpose and how they relate to maintenance. VIII-6 EPA’S ACTIONS ON RENOVATION AND REMODELING VIII-6  EPA Pre-Renovation Education Rule –The Lead Hazard Notification Pamphlet (“Protect Your Family”) must be provided no more than 60 days before starting remodeling or renovation work. (Note: This requirement does not apply to maintenance activities.) –Repairs of areas less than or equal to 2 square feet are exempt from this requirement. –Emergency actions are exempt.  EPA Training
