Art Masterpiece Joseph Mallord William Turner ( April 23, 1775 – December 19, 1851) Self portrait 1799

The Fighting Temeraire

Turner was an English Romantic landscape painter, watercolourist and printmaker, whose style can be said to have laid the foundation for Impressionism. Although renowned for his oil paintings, Turner is also one of the greatest masters of British watercolour landscape painting. He is commonly known as “the painter of light”.
