Drivers of Washington Autism Grant Application  Autism Task Force Recommendations  Six National Performance Measures for Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN)  Combating Autism Act of 2006

 Senate Bill 5311 (2005 Legislative Session)  Develop strategies and submit recommendations about how to best prevent, identify, treat, and accommodate the needs of individuals with autism and their families  Report with 31 recommendations submitted December 2006 Washington’s Autism Task Force 2005/06

 Proviso Funds (2007 Legislative Session)  Develop implementation plans and fiscal estimates on top recommendations  Report submitted December 2007  Guidebook due June 2008  Combating Autism Act of 2006 Washington’s Autism Task Force 2007/08

Drivers of Washington’s Grant Application  Builds on 11 ATF recommendations within the scope of DOH work.

 All children will be screened early and continuously for special health care needs  All families will have adequate private and/or public insurance to pay for the services they need  All CSHCN will receive regular ongoing comprehensive care within a medical home Six National Performance Measures for CSHCN

 Families will participate in decision making at all levels and will be satisfied with the services they receive.  Services will be organized in ways that families can use them easily.  All youth will receive the services necessary to make appropriate transitions to all aspects of adult life.
