ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION PLAYING DATES BOYS – THIRTEEN (13), THREE (3) OF WHICH MAY BE MULTIPLE TEAM TOURNAMENTS, CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT NO LONGER EXEMPT FROM THE COUNT – LIMIT OF EIGHT (8) TEAMS INDIVIDUAL LIMITATION – SIXTEEN (16) GAMES – THREE (3) HALVES PER DAY – WAIVED FOR MULTIPLE TEAM TOURNAMENTS

ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION PLAYING DATES GIRLS –GIRLS ARE ALLOWED TO PLAY A MAXIMUM OF SEVENTEEN (17) MATCHES PER LEVEL OF COMPETITION. Individual Player Limitation may not exceed six (6) halves in a calendar day. There is no season match limitation for an individual player.

ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION TOURNAMENT GAME BALL BOYS AND GIRLS SPALDING TF-5000

ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION MARGIN OF VICTORY THERE IS NO MARGIN OF VICTORY FOR BOYS. FOR GIRLS, THE MATCH SHALL BE DECLARED COMPLETED WHEN ONE TEAM HAS A LEAD OF 10 GOALS AT HALFTIME OR LATER IN THE GAME.

ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION OVERTIME SAME OVERTIME PROCEDURE FOR BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS – ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE GIRLS REQUIRE ALL TIED VARSITY GAMES TO HAVE OVERTIME – BOYS DO NOT

ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION BOYS AND GIRLS OVERTIME PROCEDURE 1.TWO TEN MINUTE SUDDEN VICTORY OVERTIMES WILL BE PLAYED. 2.IF THE TIE REMAINS, PENALTY KICKS WILL BE USED. FOLLOW THE PROCEDURE ON PAGE 81 & 82 OF THE RULE BOOK, ITEMS 3, 4 AND 5.

ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION IOWA CONDUCT RULES ANY PLAYER RECEIVING A CAUTION (YELLOW CARD) MUST LEAVE THE GAME FOR TEN (10) CONSECUTIVE MINUTES. PENALTY WILL CARRYOVER FROM HALF TO HALF AND END OF GAME TO OVERTIME AND OVERTIME TO OVERTIME. A CAUTION IN THE SECOND OVERTIME WILL RESULT IN NO FURTHER PLAY.

ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION IOWA CONDUCT RULES ANY PLAYER DISQUALIFIED (RED CARD) FOR ANY REASON MUST LEAVE THE GAME AND A SUBSTITUTION WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. THE TEAM WILL PLAY SHORT FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE GAME. ALL RED CARDS MUST BE REPORTED TO THE IOWA HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION OR THE IOWA GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC UNION.

ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION IOWA CONDUCT RULES BOYS ONLY ANY TEAM RECEIVING FOUR VARSITY RED CARDS, INCLUDING COACH CARDS,WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE POST SEASON TOURNAMENT. IF THE FOURTH CARD IS RECEIVED IN A POST SEASON TOURNAMENT GAME, THE GAME WILL END AND THE TEAM WILL FORFEIT THE CONTEST.

ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION IOWA CONDUCT RULES BOYS ONLY ANY VARSITY COACH RECEIVING TWO RED CARDS OVER A THREE YEAR PERIOD WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COACH HIS/HER TEAM IN THE POST- SEASON TOURNAMENT FOR TWO YEARS.

ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION ONLINE GAME REPORT BOYS ONLY WE WANT TO CONTINUE THE ONLINE GAME REPORTING DONE LAST YEAR. FOLLOWING EACH GAME, AN ADMINISTRATOR FROM THE HOME SCHOOL, THE REFEREE(S), ASSISTANT REFEREE(S) AND BOTH HEAD COACHES NEED TO COMPLETE A REPORT. A FUTURE MAILING WILL GIVE INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDING THE WEB ADDRESS. THE REPORT FORM WILL HAVE SOME MODIFICATIONS RECOMMENDED BY THE IOWA REFEREE COMMITTEE AND THE SOCCER ADVISORY COMMITTEE.

State of High School Soccer Nationally Soccer is the fifth-most popular sport for boys and girls at the high school level. According to the High School Athletics Participation Survey which is listed in the NFHS Handbook: 383,561 – H.S. Boys participate in the sport 346,545 – H.S.
