Lessons from the Potter’s House Jeremiah 18

God is the POTTER What does this mean? I am the CLAY

“Arise and go down to the potter’s house and there I will cause you to hear my words”

 God often uses visual images & demonstrations to teach His truths  We Remember  10% of what we hear  50% of what we see

1. God is the Potter  Isa. 64:8  He Creates  He Shapes  He Molds  He Fashions  All for His Purpose

2. I am Clay  We are not like clay but “we are the clay” (Isa. 64:8)  Gen. 2:7 God made man from the dust of the ground  Man has 99% same minerals and compounds of clay

2. I am Clay  Isaiah 64:8  I am the work of God’s hands  I need to be shaped  I have purpose  I am meant to be a vessel of service

3. I am Marred “The vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter” (Jer. 18:4)

4. I can be remade! “so He made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make” God didn’t throw the clay out!
