Website: | Facebook ‘Leeds University Union’ | In a nutshell -LUU Social Guidelines say: Look after the safety and wellbeing of your members on socials. Whenever you are out as an LUU Club you are representing the Student Union and the University of Leeds. Clarify what is reasonable behaviour when you are participating in any activity or social event under the name of LUU.

Website: | Facebook ‘Leeds University Union’ | Organised v Unorganised LUU club social If any of the following criteria apply, then an event or social is deemed as being an ‘organised’ social: Activity in any way publicised by the Club/Society as Club/Society activity (including online). Activity funded in part or in whole by the Union of through your Union accounts. Activity requiring the use of equipment owned by the Club/Society/Union. Activity where group transport is booked through the Union. You are wearing clothing that identifies you to the University of Leeds, LUU or your club or society.

Website: | Facebook ‘Leeds University Union’ | Can we go on Tour? Either: Go as an LUU club (and abide by the social guidelines) Go as a separate group on holiday (if you know you will not abide by the social guidelines). In this instance you must NOT: – Use your club or society accounts – Wear any kit or clothing which has the University of Leeds/LUU or any associated logos

Website: | Facebook ‘Leeds University Union’ | Can we do an Otley run? Yes if you abide by the guidance in this document. Must not have compulsory drinks list Look after your members – Get them home safely

Website: | Facebook ‘Leeds University Union’ | LUU Alcohol Policy In line with LUU’s alcohol policy you can not in LUU: Strawpedo Use of funnels Boat Races

Website: | Facebook ‘Leeds University Union’ | Getting your members home safely If there are a number of you out at an activity or social it is unlikely everyone will give you three rings to let you know they are safely home, so here are a couple of suggestions. – Nightbus – Amber taxi service – Two ‘designated drivers’ or ‘responsible persons’

Website: | Facebook ‘Leeds University Union’ | When it goes wrong If the activity or social is well planned and everyone behaves reasonably then you should all enjoy yourselves and never have to be involved in this section of the document.
